What do you do to keep a new car nice?

Well I finally picked up my new car on Friday and I've been worried about it ever since. As soon as I took it off the lot I went to grab some food to make dinner, and I parked in a very deserted area of the parking lot. I was inside for 3 minutes max and when I came out a guy had parked so close to me that he was almost touching my bumper. There was at least 10 spaces on each side of me, but he chose to park right beside me. Then a stray grocery cart decided to roll itself full steam towards my car. I caught it an inch before it was to hit my door.

I've been trying so hard to keep my car from getting any scratches or dents, and I've been parking way out in the parking lot where nobody else dares to park only to find when I come back that all the little teenage boys with their 90's Civics they've slapped racing stickers and an exhaust on all park beside me. I know my car is sporty but get away from it! So ladies and gentlemen, I've been wondering...what kind of steps do you/can you take to keep a car in great condition?

Congrats!

I bought my new car in 2001 and it's still in great shape. I wash, wax, vacuum and Armor-All it regulary. I also do not allow food in my car.

Let me tell you I hate when people do that. I mean obviously you want to keep it new and people still choose to park right on top of it. One time, I was in the store and I had my sister and mom waiting for me in the car and a guy parks next to me and slammed his door into mine so I called him on it and he was all what's the big deal it's just a car. Then another time I was sitting in my car after going into the store and I feel a big jerk and look over and an elderly woman did the same thing so I told her and she threw her garbage at me. Needless to say with her I called the cops and she was forced to pay for the damages. To top it off she tried to cover her attitude by saying she'd been diagnosed with cancer. I told her I'm sorry but that doesn't give you the right to throw things when all I'm trying to do is protect my investment. The point is that no one really cares in the end and just keep doing what your doing. Congrats on the new car.

Amoral is good, baby wipes are awesome, constant vacuuming and also the brushless car wash with regular waxing.
